Our Studio Session and Group Class Offerings

Below you find descriptions of the specific sessions and classes that we offer. We ask that all new clients begin their journey with an Initial Consultation or a Group Pilates Assessment, you can click here to explore the difference between Studio Pilates and Group Pilates Classes and read more about how we work and why our initial assessments are fundamental to how we provide expertly led Pilates services. Those who are currently taking Maja’s Matwork classes may be exempt. Please get in touch!

Individualised guidance and attention are a core part of all of our teachings, no matter if you attend a studio session or a group class, however, the level of individualisation, attention, and guidance you will receive will depend on the size and type of session or class that you choose.

Combining studio work and group classes into your week is therefore a great way to grow your confidence and increase your practice in the Pilates Method.

Studio Session & Class Offerings

  • Initial Consultation

    The IC is a 50 min. studio Pilates session delivered 1:1 with our senior instructor. Together you will discuss your goals and health history, and you will be guided setting up and usisg oua Pilates apparatus safely, followed by a 45 min. assessment-based private Pilates session across a selected set of our clinical Pilates apparatus.

    An individualised program will be written up for you following the IC, and you will go through this with your instructor during your next session. The program contains a select set prescribed Pilates repertoire and cliniclly based exercises designed to provide you with the appropriate challenge and assist to bring you close to,your goals. The program will be created with appropriate attention to any injuries, ocnditions , or limitations that you may have.

    Your rogram will not focus solely on one body part or injury to the exclusion of the rest of your body. You will be moving through your whole body in a safe, joyful, and wholesome way.. After a few weeks you will have increased your confidence and build the strength and control to move onto different exercises and/or Pilates apparatus. A new wprogram will be written up by our senior instructor, making sure that you are progressing towards you goals steadily and safely.

  • Private Studio Sessions

    Our Private Studio Pilates Sessions are 1:1 with our senior instructor and therefore offer you the highest amount of direct guidance ahd attention from as you work towards youo goals, following a program tailored to your body. Theses essions can be 50 or 30 min long, where the 30 min. sessions are mostly used for specific repertoire practice, home work follow-ups, or specific clinical work.

    Yow will be working on a select set of Pilates repertoire and clinically based exercises across our clinical Pilates apparatus. The choice of exercises and apparatus depends on your needs, goals, and preferences. Private sessions are calm, concentration, and full of joyful challenge and session-raelated discussion if needed.

    Private sessions are great for those who either wish to work in full privacy concentrating on their individual Pisates practice or tTose who need space and support in working on specific areas of interest of need, such as chornic conditions and recovering after, pain management, speicifi training for sports performance, etc.

  • Duet Studio Sessions

    Duet Studio Pilates Sessions offer you that additional individual attention and guidance as you work on your own program alongside a friend, family member, or up to 1 fellow Pilates enthusiasts.

    Both client will be working on a select set of Pilates repertoire and clinically based exercises across a deliberate set of our Pilates apparatus. The choice of exercises and apparatus depends on each clients individual needs, goals, and preferences, and the atmosphere of the Duet sessions is therefore social but calm and concentration.

    The Duet sessions are great for those who enjoy company while working on their Pisates practice but who also enjoy privacy, calm, and concentraiton. Duet sessions allow for solid guidance in practice across all of our loved Pilates apparatus and they include lots of on-the-spot challenged and assist.

    These sessions provide amble oportunity to work on specific areas of interest of need, be it deepening into a more challenging Pilates practice, strength and conditioning after injury, pain management, cross training for sports performance, staying well in pregnancy, etc.

  • Semi-Private Studio Sessions

    Semi-Private Studio Pilates Sessions offer you lots of individual attention and guidance as you work on your own program alongside up to a maximum of 3 other Pilates enthusiasts.

    Each client will be working on a select set of Pilates repertoire and clinically based exercises across a deliberate set of our Pilates apparatus. The choice of exercises and apparatus depends on each clients individual needs, goals, and preferences, and the atmosphere and vibe of the Semi-Private sessions is therefore social but also one of joyful concentration.

    The semi-Private sessions are great for those who wish a regular Pilates practice across all of the much loved Pilates apparatus and who enjoy to be challenged and assisted, as well as those who wish to work on a specific area of interest of need, such as strength and conditioning after injury, pain management, cross training for sports performance, staying well in pregnancy, etc.

  • Group Pilates Assessment

    The Group Pilates Assessment is a moving Small Group Pilates session where you will be shown how to work safely with out equipment and how to set it up and use it during class. You will be taken through the foundational Pilates repertoire from the Matwork, Reformer, and Cadillac repertoire, that forms the foundation of all of the work we do across our group classes and studio sessions.

    The session will give you insight into how we work and teach at Pilates Lab PI, and you will begin to learn about the principles of the Pilates method. All of our work and teachings are founded upon these principles and, and for our new clients we emphasize the principles of centering, Concentration, and Control.

    You overall movement capacity and level will be assessed so that we can pair you with the right group classes level and teacher, keeping you both challenged and safe. You will need to be fairly healthy and fit to join a group class, and able to work somewhat independently. If you are not quite there yet, then we can help you build that readiness through small group Matwork-based Tower classes, studio work, and through homework provided for the period it takes you to build up to the group class level. We want you to get all the benefits of the work we do in our group classes, so we will support you whereever you need it until you are up and running!

    After the Group Pilates Assessment you will have a good grasp on what classes will be good to start with and you will be able to book in from our website and start practicing.

  • Reformer & Tower Group Classes

    Uniquely to our studio, we offer full group class sessions on the Reformer & Tower Pilates apparatus. This allows us to introduce our Pilates community to a much wider part of the Pilates repertoire, usually not available in the group setting. All of our classes hold a maximum of 5 clients per class, and personal attention and guidance will be given to each client throughout the class.

    We offer small group Matwork, Reformer, and Tower repertoire classes from the introductory to intermediate level, making it possible for you to learn the Pilates Method from the very beginning, or to keep you challenged and progressing in your practice of your are already working at a progressive or intermediate level. We hold years of experience in teaching both athletes, complete beginners, everyday Pilates enthusiasts, and those whos bodies need special attention.

    Our clinical equipment is desgined specifically for our studio, offering a high level of client customisation accommodating all bodies, inlcuding the children, adolescent, the elderly, and those recovering from injury and suffering from chronic pain. We have what we need to support, assist, and challenge you where your body needs it. This is why we are able to offer specialist group classes, providing affordable access for our community to the Pilates method. These classes include:
